Biography

James Plasman is the chief Economic Officer at the U.S. Consulate, Lagos and responsible for coordinating U.S. economic policy in southern Nigeria.  Since arriving in August 2013, James has focused on fostering cooperation between the U.S. and Nigerian private sectors and promoting two-way trade.  Prior to arriving in Lagos, he served as Political Officer in New Delhi from 2011 to 2013 and also served in Georgetown, Guyana and Washington, DC.  James received a Masters in International Affairs and Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelors degree from Hope College.
