Daniel Cavegn has a Doctorate in Experimental Psychology of the K.U. Leuven (Belgium). In 1996 he entered the Swiss Diplomatic Service. After a first posting in Hanoi (Vietnam), he spent 4 years as the Desk Officer for South Asia, Afghanistan and Iran in Berne. From 2001 to 2005 he was posted at the Swiss Embassy in Bangkok (Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia). Then he became the Head of Analysis in the Center for Analysis and Prospective Studies, later renamed Political Secretariat, of the Federal Departement of Foreign Affairs in Berne. From 2009 until 2013 he was Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Seoul (Republic of Korea) and in 2013 took up the same post at the Swiss Embassy in Abuja.
